Rajkumar Rao and Patralekha are now officially married

Bollywood actor Rajkumar Rao is trending because of the way he goes on one knee to propose his better half Patralekhaa. It has been over a decade now that the couple is dating and they got hitched recently on November 14th, 2021. The couple left their fans dumbstruck by the video of a fairytale proposal shared by them. Rajkumar Rao has even shared a post with some awesome pictures where he mentioned, “Finally after 11 years of love, romance, friendship, and fun, I got married to my everything today, my soulmate, my best friend, my family. Today there is no greater happiness for me than being called your husband @patralekhaa. Here’s to forever.. and beyond”.

The lady love of the actor also wrote a post on social media writing, “I got married to my everything today; my boyfriend, my partner in crime, my family, my soulmate…My best friend for the last 11 years! There is no greater feeling than to be your wife! Here’s to our forever…”

The Citylights couple chose to go for an intimate celebrity wedding in Chandigarh. The couple took their vows in a Hindu-style wedding ceremony which was marked by the presence of their close friends and family and both made everyone roll their eyes by their adorable look in outfits designed by Sabyasachi.

How did they fall in love?

There are people who don’t know how the love story of Rajkumar Rao and Patralekhaa started. To those, it all started with an advertisement in which the bride had worked and from the day Rajkumar had fallen in love with her topsy-turvy. Whereas if we talk about the bride, she didn’t have a good image of him due to his appearance in the movie “Love, Sex, aur Dhoka”. Later in the year 2018 during an interview, he shared the reaction his mother had on meeting Patralekhaa for the first. During that interview, he said that the actress is his best friend. “Patralekhaa is my best friend — we discuss cinema, we discuss acting or traveling. We’re not discussing marriage or babies because we like the way we are. When my mom first met Patralekhaa, she said that she’s going to be the last girl I’m meeting.”

The couple preferred a not-so-loud traditional Indian look where Patralekhaa was seen dolled up in a red embroidered saree with a beautifully embellished veil adding charm to her look. She chose to go with light jewelry where she wore a heavy choker necklace with a complimenting Maatha Patti and jhumkis made with 22kt gold using diamonds, emeralds, and pearls. The Bengal beauty bride even followed the old-style tradition of putting kumkum and Chandan bindi on the forehead. The veil worn by the bride has a customized border in Bengali statement designed by Sabyasachi saying “Aamar praanbhora bhaalobaasa aami tomaye somorpan korilam” which means “I am surrendering my heart filled with pure love to you”.

The groom i.e. Rajkumar Rao wore a raw silk embroidered Jacket over his silk kurta and churidar highlighting gold-plated “Bengal tiger” buttons. He also complimented his look with a red safa to uplift the coordination game along with a pearl necklace from Sabyasachi.

The couple set trends by choosing gleaming marigold flowers and leaves varmala for the garland ceremony, which looked super cool. Director Farah Khan even went emotional while she was doing the sehra-bandi of groom aka Rajkumar Rao.

Nothing less than a fairy tale wedding was the engagement of this love-bird couple that took place just a day before their wedding. The couple and all the guests who attended the event were dressed up in ivory-colored attires. The ring exchanging ceremony was nothing less than a romantic Bollywood movie, dreamy enough to make our hearts go crazy. Raj went on his knees and proposed the love of his life Patralekhaa with a beautiful wedding ring. Within a moment, the bride also went down on her knees with a ring that made the whole event even more memorable.
